It has now been 4 years since the release of UVPackmaster 3. Over these years, we have continuously worked on improving the packer for you, implementing many non-trivial features (refer to the full UVPM 3 release notes – note that all those updates were available for the UVPackmaster 3 users for free).

But as the saying goes, appetite comes with eating: we wanted to add more and more sophisticated functionality to the software, and we were quite successful in that goal—until recently, when we reached a critical point. It became clear that the UVPM 3 architecture had grown outdated and was no longer suitable for some of the advanced features on our roadmap.

There was only one possible decision to make. Over the past half year, I have been working intensively on refactoring the packer’s architecture to enable further progress. A significant portion of the code had to be reworked to make this possible, but fortunately, that tremendous task is now complete.

And the result of this effort is UVPackmaster 4.

While there are many good reasons to upgrade to UVPackmaster 4, I want to assure you that future maintenance is not one of them. UVPackmaster 3 will continue to be supported for at least until the end of 2027, and its compatibility with future Blender versions will be maintained throughout that period. However, no new features will be added.

The main reason is you will get access to a new set of cutting-edge UV packing features. Refer to the release notes for the starter features.

And that’s only the beginning. Expect a plethora of new, sophisticated features to be implemented in the future, just as was the case with UVPackmaster 3 (once again, refer to the UVPM 3 release notes).

And last but not least: by upgrading, you support the development of a unique piece of software on the market which gets tougher every year.

As always, we offer a generous discount for our loyal users. The cost of upgrading from UVPM 3 Single User to UVPM 4 Single User is currently just $11, regardless of how much you paid for UVPM 3. Please note that this price may change in the future.

For all other upgrade scenarios—such as upgrading from UVPM 1 or UVPM 2, or from a Studio license to a UVPM 4 Studio license—the upgrade price is simply the difference between the new version price and the amount you paid for your existing license.

The method of upgrading depends on where you purchased a previous version of UVPackmaster:

GUMROAD:

Gumroad does not provide an option for a universal discount code. Hence, you need to write to us directly at upgrade@uvpackmaster.com in order to get your own code.

Make sure you write to us from the email address you used to purchase an older version of UVPackmaster (1, 2 or 3). Writing from a different email address and providing your Gumroad address in the message body won’t work because the process of generating discount codes is automated.

Also keep in mind that it may take up to 24 hours for our system to send the code back to you. If you don’t see the message in your inbox, check also your spam folder (discount code messages are sometimes classified as spam).

Important: if you are getting an error when trying to apply a code from the list below, manually type the code into the discount field instead of pasting it.

If you want to upgrade from UVPackmaster 3 Single User to UVPackmaster 4 Single User:

Such situation happens, if you purchased UVPackmaster 3 or 2 on the marketplace when it was still available, but you haven’t upgraded it to UVPackmaster 4 yet. To be more specific: the original UVPackmaster 3 product became the UVPackmaster 4 product when the latter was released (with the UVPackmaster 4 files added as new product variants). The old UVPackmaster 3 / 2 product variants were unpublished but not removed, so that the users who purchased UVPackmaster 3 / 2 still have access to it.

To summarize: such a situation means you “own” the UVPackmaster 4 product but with an old UVPackmaster variant only – that is why you cannot access the UVPackmaster 4 files.
